A 39-year-old man was arrested in Ennigerloh after an attempted cable theft on a construction site in the early hours of Tuesday, 3 November 2026. Security staff spotted two suspicious vehicles and a man on the site in Jahnstraße at around 1:35 a.m. before alerting police. The suspect fled into a nearby forest area when he saw the security service. Officers searched the area and found the 39-year-old. On the construction site, police discovered separated cables that were apparently intended to be stolen. Officers also secured the two vehicles connected to the incident. After police measures were completed, the man was released. Investigators have started looking into whether other people may have been involved.
